The Road and Radio Tour

January 8, 2011

Middle East Upstairs

Cambridge, MA

Small Talk:

As usual their set was amazing. The crowd was singing along with Small Talk. The band responded well to the crowd participation. Jimmy asked for the last song if he forgets the words to please keep singing. The crowd responded with much enthusiasm. This is a band that will go far doing what they love to do.

Set List:

Footsteps of a Girl – Karma – Disappear – You Were Right About Me – Ice Cream – You Won’t Catch Me

My Electric Heart:

The band hails from Florida. Rick Odria is the vocalist, Rob Casio is the drummer, Jordan Posada is the guitarist, and playing bass was Terrence Nelson. They played a great set. For their first show in Massachusetts they sounded amazing. The crowd was listening intently to try and get a feel for this new band. Rick’s family showed up to see him play since they are from the New England Area. Hey have an electronic sound and the fans enjoyed them. You could hear some fans that have followed them before sing along to songs of The Fist Shake ep. From this first time performance in Massachusetts you can expect great things from them in the future. Make sure to keep an eye out for them in the upcoming year.

Set list:

Let’s Just Live – Death of a Panda – Ridin Solo(Jason Derulo Cover) – New Song – Heartstrings – Kiss Me On The Dance Floor

The Summer Soundtrack:

The band hails from Colorado. They shut the house lights off for this set. They had an amped crowd and everyone began dancing as soon as the music started. They also have an electronic dance sound. They sounded amazing and ended up giving people free songs after their set. I would say to keep an eye out for them in the future.

Over all this show was amazing and the bands that played put on a good show. Make sure to check out their music if you have never heard of them. You will not be disappointed.

Christmas Brings Me Down Tour
Dec 18th, 2010
Middle East Upstairs

Amely was on after stay and I was very very very excited to see them. Once they took the stage I was excited. I thought that they had a very well performance. I was singing along to most of the songs.

Christmas Time Again – Now Or Never – Come Back To Me – Have You Ever Known (and clip of The Only Exception by Paramore) - Sing To You– I’d Rather Be Alone – Hello World

Some Things Don't Wash Out - Happy Birthday – Livin' Th' Dream – A Bigger Point of Pride – A Little Bit More – Bootstraps – I Can Get Back Up Now

Sparks The Rescue was last to play and they had one of the best performances. I enjoyed their set as well. I was singing along to all the sparks songs. When Alex Roy started singing Move Along By The All American Rejects I was screaming the lyrics but then he went into We Love Like Vampires.

Autumn – Pine Tree State – Christmas Brings Me Down – Skeleton – New Song – Nurse Nurse! – Getting Clean in the Dirty South – Chemistry Set – Need You Now – I Swear That She's The One – Move Along (Clip of cover by AAR ) - We Love Like Vampires – My Heart Radio

This Is A Family Tour Show Review

December 15, 2010

House of Blues

Boston, MA

In Fear and Faith was the first band to play. They announced during their set that Cody their screamer was not with them because he left the band so they were having a friend fill in for him. They definitely sounded good live and I enjoyed their performance despite not knowing any of their songs. They definitely had a lot of energy on stage and sounded good even though they had someone else filling in for them for screaming. There was a little crowd surfing but not a ton.

Setlist: Bones – Counselor – The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions – Pirates….The Sequel – Your World On Fire – Live Love Die

Of Mice and Men was the second band to play. They just got to the venue five minutes before they were supposed to play. They had to use In Fear and Faith’s equipment because they didn’t have enough time to unload all their equipment and set it up. They still sounded pretty good even though they were not using their own equipment. I actually enjoyed their set even though I didn’t know any of their songs. At one point about halfway through their set Jerry and Shayley ended laying up on the floor while Shayley was still playing his guitar. Then Jerry ended up picking himself up in a weird way that kind of looked a break-dance move which I thought was kind of cool. There was a little bit of crowd surfing going on during their set but not a ton.

Setlist: Seven Thousand Miles For What – Those In Glass Houses – The Ballad Of Tommy Clayton & The Rawdawg Millionaire – They Don’t Call It The South For Nothing – Ydg – Second & Sebring

Pierce The Veil was the third band to play. There set was amazing live. The colored lights added a nice touch to their set. The band definitely puts a lot of energy into their performance. They ended their set with “Caraphernelia” which is their current single. Also during their set they played the “Like A G6” Breakdown Melody which the crowd seemed to enjoy. Vic’s vocals and Jaime’s screaming sound just as amazing live as they do on the record. When they first came on the stage it was raining in the photo pit right in front of the stage. I think it was because one of the band members decided to spit out water. At one point during their set Jaime and Tony decided to climb up on the speakers. I was actually able to get an awesome photo of Jaime when he went to jump down. There was a lot of crowd surfing occurring during their set. Vic kept trying to encourage people to mosh. The audience seemed to really enjoy their set and many people were singing along.

Setlist: Besitos – The Sky Under The Sea – Diamonds And Why Men Buy Them – Chemical Kids And Mechanical Brides – Yeah Boy And Doll Face – Like A G6 Breakdown Melody – The Boy Who Could Fly – Caraphernelia

Emmure was the fourth band to play. We had to miss most of their set because we had an interview with In Fear and Faith so I only got to see them perform a few songs. Not sure what I really thought of their set since I only got to see such a small part of it. From what I did see the crowd seemed to be enjoying it. There was a lot of crowd surfing going on during their set, along with some moshing.

Setlist: Young, Rich, and Out Of Control – 10 Signs You Should Leave – Sound Wave Superior – Sunday Bacon – I Thought You Met Telly and Turned Me Into Casper – R2 Deepthroat – Bars In Astoria – False Love In Real Life – When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong

Attack Attack! was the last band to play. They sounded amazing live. They put high energy into their performances. Caleb made an announcement about how Johnny had left the band so they had their friend Sean Mackowski from My Ticket Home filling in for them. Sean sounded amazing on the clean vocals which almost made the songs sound better live. Caleb’s screaming definitely sounds just as good live. Also when Caleb wasn’t screaming he was singing the words to the songs but not into the microphone. He seems to be excited that he is doing all of the coals now. A few songs into their set Caleb told everyone to find a partner for their next song. He then told everyone to get on their partners shoulders. Then he said that he wanted everyone to have a chicken fight. Many of the people that were in the front row seemed to be doing it and Caleb even commented about that. He was kind of mad that not a lot of people were doing it and called people pussies. When they came back on for their encore everyone was excited. At first Caleb said they were gonna play one more song but then he said since everyone was so good how about they play two more songs. “Sexual Man Chocolate” and “Hot Grills and High Tops/Stick Stickly” were two of their biggest hits. During their set there was a ton of crowd surfing and craziness on the floor. Caleb kept drinking mouthfuls of water and spitting them out on the crowd or tossing open water bottles into the crowd.

Setlist: Intro (Italian Guitar Cheesy Song, into a new breakdown melody) – AC-130 – A For Andrew – Dr. Shavargo, Pt. 3 – The People’s Elbow – Smokahontas – Turbo Swag – Second Half of Lonely’s dubstep part – Fumbles O’Brian – Renob, Nevada

Encore: Sexual Man Chocolate – Hot Grills, and High Tops/ Stick Stickly

This show was not sold out but there were a good amount of people on the floor. They only opened up the floor and the balcony and not mezzanine. I think one of the reasons it didn’t sell out is because it was freezing outside. There was some crowd surfing for the first two bands. Once the last three bands went on there was a lot more crowd surfing and moshing occurring. Some of the security guards kept dropping people as they were pulling them over the barricade. Overall I enjoyed all of the bands on this tour except for one. Hopefully some of these bands will tour together again because this really was an awesome tour.

Holiday Bash

December 12, 2010

Crash Mansion

New York City

Mitchy C is from New Jersey. He sounded amazing it was just him and his guitar. He will be going far and ended up playing a song that he has never played. Mitchy had two songs left to play and people in the crowd screamed encore. Mitchy ended up saying I haven’t finished and I have two songs left. Make sure to check him out for he will be someone to keep an eye out for in 2011. He has songs on Itunes.

The Perfect Gentleman is from New Jersey as well. They sounded awesome and really had the crowd into the music. Lou asked a member of the crowd to buy him a beer which is kind of funny. They had a small crowd of maybe 10 people but they will be a band to keep an eye out for in 2011.

Mikey Mo is from Spotswood New Jersey. He had a friend whose name is Ricky Joyce (drummer for The New Royalty) who had a drum block as well as an egg shaker and a tambourine help him with the set. Mikey started the set of with Little Miss Perfect and he played that extremely well. It was good to see him away from Hey Monday and smiling the entire set while playing his own music. He also played Hey Kid, Chin Up! He introduced that song by saying he tends to forget lyrics to see if the 8 people who watched his set would know the words. When he stopped singing the entire crowd stopped and he picked the singing back up. He also played Here In Jersey he wrote and released with At A Glance which was one of his former bands. He intro-ed that song by dedicating to his best friend Thomas Griffiths who had twins that were due on December 14, 2010. The last song he played was NYC Pretty Baby and the crowd went insane. Everyone was singing and dancing to the song and he looked so happy being himself and performing his own music. He has an EP out now in Itunes called Oh Boy, Here We Go! Keep an eye on him in 2011 and he is sure to amaze all of us. Mikey’s Set List was Little Miss Perfect – As Far As I’m Concerned – Promis(e)cuous Sheets –   K-I-S-S-I-N-G  - Hey Kid Chin Up! – Here In Jersey – NYC Pretty Baby

VersaEmerge’s Headliner

Nov. 21st, 2010

Palladium Wocester, MA

Conditions Was The 2nd band to play on this tour and I personally thought that they were an awesome band. When they were performing they sounded somewhat screamo which was appealing to me. I very much enjoyed there set.

The End of Progression - Better Life - Natural Competition -Made Ghosts - Illuminati - When it Won't Save You

Anarbor was the 3rd band to play and they kept calling Boston Baltimore but you couldn’t blame Slade for being drunk. Even thought I really couldn’t see there set I was happy because they weren’t really appealing to me.

Mr. Big Shot - Gypsy Woman - Passion for Publication - Always Dirty, Never Clean - You and I - Going to Jail - Drugstore Diet - Contagious - The Brightest Green - Let The Games Begin

VersaEmerge was last to play and they were really good. I very much enjoyed their set. Sierra said that Boston was savages because everytime she would put her hand in the crowd everyone was trying to rip her limb for limb. I felt bad for her but she liked it which was very weird.

Fixed At Zero - Past Praying For - Fire (Aim Your Arrows High) - Up There - You'll Never Know - Moments Between Sleep - Your own Love - Figure It Out - Stranger - Mind Reader - Lost Tree - Whisperer
Encore: Clocks

The AP Tour Fall 2010 Show Review

November 19, 2010

House of Blues

Boston, MA

This Is Hell was the first band to play. I actually enjoyed their set the least of everyone on the tour. They played 9 songs during their set. It felt like their set just kept dragging on. Travis the singer tried to get running circle pits going throughout their set. They were actually able to get 1 or 2 good sized running circle pits. There were a few people in the crowd that actually knew their lyrics. There was a little crowd surfing during their set but not too much.

Setlist: Bloodlines – Prelude (Again) – No One Leaves Unscathed – Destroyer – Death Of World Class – Fall And Rise – The Search – Shadows – Permanence

Polar Bear Club was the second band to play. I thought that their set was pretty good but I definitely would have enjoyed their set more if I actually knew any of their songs. There was not much movement on the floor at all and very few people seemed to actually sing along to their songs. At one point during their set the guitarist left the stage to go the bathroom. The singer announced that their guitarist was going pee and then said that was actually going number 2. I thought that it was a little weird that a singer would announce something like that. Then when the guitarist came back it took him a few minutes to get his guitar back on and ready to play

Setlist: Light Of Local Eyes – Our Ballads – Burned Out In A Jar – Boxes – Parked In The Parking Lot Of Your Heart – Chasing Hamburg – Living Saints

Emarosa was the third band to play. I enjoyed there set a lot even though I did not know any of their songs. They played a few songs off their new self-titled album. One of which was “A Toast To The Future Kids” which I have been listening to on repeat since first hearing it at this show. They ended their set with an older song titled “Set It Off Like Napalm”. The band sounds amazing live and Johnny’s singing sounds just as amazing live. The floor was not too crazy during their set. Johnny even touched some of the people that crowdsurfed’s hands, as security was pulling them over the barricade. The band minus Johnny Craig did a signing at the AP table when doors opened.

Setlist: The Past Should Stay Dead – The Game Played Right – A Toast To The Future Kids! – Pretend.Relive.Regret – We Are Life – Set It Off Like Napalm

August Burns Red was the fourth band to play. Though I am still not a huge fan of August Burns Red I will admit that they put on an awesome live show. I enjoyed their set even more this time than the first time I saw them. The strobe lights they had going in the beginning before they came on the stage made for an awesome entrance. There was a lot of crowd surfing and moshing going on during their set. Right before they finished their set Matt the drummer did a drum solo which sounded amazing. This band definitely puts high energy into their performances. Maybe in the future I will be able to get into their music but this point they are a little to hardcore for me.

Setlist: Composure – Truth Of A Liar – Thirty And Seven – Meddler – Mariana’s Trench – The Escape Artist – Indonesia – Back Burner – Redemption – Drum Solo – White Washed

Bring Me The Horizon was the last band to play. They started off their set with a song called “It Never Ends” which is off of their new album. They also played two other songs off their new album which were “F**k” and “Crucify Me”. They ended their set with “Chelsea Smile which is an older song. Oli introduced “F**k” as a song about sexual intercourse. Jona sang the clean vocal that Josh from You Me At Six sang on the record. I thought that Jona’s vocals sounded just as good as Josh’s vocals do which made the song sound just as amazing live. At one point during their set Oli asked how many people bought their new record or illegally downloaded it. A few times during their set Oli got the floor to open up into a huge pit. At one point towards the end of their set he was able to get the entire floor to create a pit. There was a lot of crowd surfing and craziness during their set. Near the end of their set Joan decided to climb up the speaker and on to the outside ledge of the 2nd floor balcony. He stayed up there during most of the song and played his guitar from up there. He even let go at one point and somehow was able to hold the guitar over his head and still play it. It really looked he was going to fall but he didn’t. This band definitely puts high energy into their performances and they sounded amazing live.

Setlist: It Never Ends – The Comedown – Diamonds Aren’t Forever – Pray For Plagues – Fuck – Crucify Me – Football Season Is Over – Chelsea Smile

This show drew in a pretty good crowd. I don’t think it was completely sold out but it was probably close to selling out if it didn’t. The only bad thing about this show was the fact that they decided to put all the merch tables on the 2nd floor balcony. Then to get back on to the floor you needed to show them your ticket since the house of blues is very strict when there are a ton of people at a show. Many of the people in the crowd seemed to be there mostly for the headliners which were August Burns Red and Bring Me The Horizon. There were a small amount of people that were singing along to the first 3 bands sets. This Is Hell got a few running circle pits going. For Polar Bear Club there was not much movement on the floor at all. During Emarosa’s set there was not too much movement but there was a little bit of crowd surfing. When the last 2 bands went the floor got crazy. People kept trying to get onto the floor from where I was standing by climbing the bar when the stairs were like a few inches away. There were even 2 boys who decided to jump over the railing to get to the floor. There was a ton of crowd surfing as well as lots of moshing. Many people kept throwing their drink cups across the floor. The venue was probably a mess after everyone left. Overall I enjoyed ever band on the tours set except for one. The fall AP Tour was awesome especially since they changed it up a little by putting on a hardcore show which definitely drew in a different crowd than the spring AP tours usually do.

The Harmony Tour Review

November 17, 2010

House of Blues

Boston, MA

Carter Hulsey is from Joplin Missouri. He sounded unique and sounded like something I had heard before. He mixed NSN’s laid back acoustic with a homey feel. His set over all was a good set and make sure you check him out because you will be hearing a lot from him in the future.

I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody’s Business is from New Jersey. You have Ace Enders who is the singer and was also in The Early November and he sings as his solo act Ace Enders. Their set was great they have an original sound and kept the crowd involved. He also tried to make the crowd to stop pushing and try to keep everyone safe for the floor was packed and the people against the barricade had no breathing room. If you have not checked them out then please do and you will not be disappointed.

The Maine is from Arizona. They played an amazing set and keep the crowd very entertained. John sounded like he wanted to party but he had another performance at Northeastern University after their set. Their Setlist included: New Song – Right Girl – Listen to Your Heart – Growing Up – Girls Do What They Want – Fuel to the Fire – Don’t Stop Now – Into Your Arms – Inside of You – We’ll All Be (Mash up) with Color.

Never Shout Never is from Missouri. His set was average and not his best. He thought it would sound great if he added the reggae flair to his set. It sounded horrible and he lit up six cigarettes and filled the whole venue full of smoke. Honestly he sounds better on his records and EPs than he did live. He definitely could have played better. His Set list included Harmony – Love Is Our Weapon – I Just Laugh – Piggy Bank – Trouble – On the Brightside – Sweet Perfection – I Love You More Than You Will Ever Know – Can’t Stand It – This Shit Getz Old – I Love You Five – cheatercheaterbestfriendeater – Big City Dreams –The Past.

Brighterside CD Release Show Review

November 13, 2010

The Middle East Upstairs

Cambridge, MA

Avery was first to play. Only got to catch a few minutes of their set but from what I did saw their set was pretty good. Hopefully if I see them again I will better be able to tell how they sound.

Visions was the next band to play. Visions brings a classic blend of country and rock together. Their music is original and nothing like I have heard before. The band gets really involved in the music and sometimes gets caught up in the moment which then leads to stomps and screams during the ends of songs. They look for crowd participation and enjoy the crowd singing along with them. They are full of energy and are a band to keep an eye out for in the future. TJ mad an announcement that their full length album would be out on Tuesday but that they had physical copies for sale early since we all came to the show.

Our Lives In Motion played third. They were all really energetic and moved around the stage a lot. During their set they played the song “The Getaway” which was the only song I had actually heard before. Other than that I didn’t really know any of their songs which made the rest of their set kind of boring.

Dear Zim was the fourth band to play. I have seen them play many times before and I honestly have to say that this was not their best performance. Dave was sick so his singing did not sound as good as usual. It sounded more like he was talking into the microphone than singing. Also Dave’s laptop crashed during the debut of their new song. They still played the song even though it probably would have sounded better if his laptop worked. Nick’s drumming was amazing as usual. Also they seemed to get a good amount of crowd participation during their set despite their issues. They ended their set with “Kick It Up”. Today they were filming a video to be put up on iTunes so there was a cameraman walking around during their set as well as before the show to film the crowd and the band.

Small Talk was the fifth band to play. They played a great set as usual. They played a couple of new songs today. They also made an announcement that their new ep was going to be out on iTunes on Tuesday. During their set they also played “Ice Cream” which sounds awesome live. They actually played the song live before they ever release the recorded. Both versions sound a little bit different but are both equally as awesome. They ended their set with “Footsteps of a Girl”.

Brighterside was the last band to play since it was their cd release show. I have seen the band many times before and honestly this has been their best performance yet. Cameron really stepped it up on his singing and sounded a lot better than usual. The other members also stepped it up on their performance making this performance their most enjoyable one I have seen. Also they have had some member changes since the last time. Tyler their old bassist now plays the keyboards and Bill their new member is now their bass player. They played a few new songs today along with songs that they usually play like “Right Now” and “Holding On”.

All of the bands on this show were pretty good. For the most part they seemed to get a good amount of crowd participation and the crowd seemed to enjoy their sets. I would definitely recommend checking out these bands. They are all mostly local Boston bands that could really use the support. You never know when you might find a band that you really like as almost all of the bands of this show have a little of a different sound from each other.

The Summer Set Show Review

Austin Gibbs was the 1st band to play. They had an estimated 5 minute instrumental opener to start off the show. Once Austin got on that stage the set was ready to start. During their 3rd song their drummer looked so happy and looked like he loved life so much. The crowd wasn’t digging his sound that much and drifted away. It was a good start off for a concert.

The Downtown Fiction was up next and everyone rushed just so they could see them. When they opened with their 1st song it was crazy because fans were pushing just so they could touch Lead Singer Cameron Leahy. Also during their set Cameron leaned over to far and put his hand on a girls boob by accident. He apologized to her for the inappropriate touching. I thought their set was amazing.

The Downtown Fiction

Best I Never Had – Oceans Between Us – Your Voice – Is Anybody Out There – You Were Wrong – Living Proof – I Just Wanna Run

ModSun was 3rd to play. He had a rap and hip hop sound. During the 4th song he split his head open and didn’t even realize it. They’re set was ok

Stereo Skyline was 4th to play. Once people saw the blonde emo sweep they started to scream they’re heads off. They had an amazing opening. They looked so happy to be playing and they look like they were full of life. A lot of people also pushed because its stereo skyline and they wanted to touch Lead Singer Kevin Bard but he was barely touching fans hands which I thought was kind of mean but I wasn’t to judge if I had 15 year old girls screaming and running to the stage to touch me I would be freaked out to. They had an amazing set. I absolutely loved it.

Stereo Skyline

A Little More Us – Five tens In Harlem – Tongue Tied – Over It – Me And You – Downtown – Heartbeat

The Summer Set played last and that was chaos. There was a lot of pushing and felt like a pancake in the crowd but it didn’t matter because they were so amazing live.  They were so upbeat and full of energy. When they came out for their encore they convinced everyone in the crowd to sit on the floor. I thought I was going to die because all the people were in my bubble. Overall I would have to say they were my favorite performance of the night.

The Summer Set

This Is How We Live – Punch-Drunk Love – Girls Freak Me Out – Young – Where Are You Now – Nothin’ But A Good Time – Love Like This – She’s Got The Rhythm – The Boys You Do (Get Back At You) – Passenger Seat (acoustic) – Chelsea

Hey Monday/Cartel Tour Review

We Are The In Crowd is Taylor Jardine, Jordan Eckes, Cameron Hurley, Rob Chianelli and Michael Ferri .They started off the show in the best light. .  They gave us a high energy performance even though no one really knew who they were.  They tried some crowd participation that failed but the band never gave up hope of making the crowd have a good time. Even though no one really knew the songs they gave us an awesome performance.

We Are The In Crowd

Setlist: Lights Out – Never Be What You Want – For The Win – Calendar Pages – Both Sides Of The Story

This Century played next. People seemed very bored with their set but that didn’t stop the band from giving it their all. Their songs were more relaxed compare to WATIC songs which were in your face.  They played a good set full of energy.

This Century

Setlist: Hopeful Romantic – The Young and The Useless – Running – No Way Out – To Love And Back – Loud

The Ready Set played third. Everyone was amped when it came to Jordan taking the stage.  Everyone was singing along and jumping. They gave a high energy performance and not one person in the crowd was sitting down. When they started playing the song “Love Like Woe” the crowd went insane. Tons of lyrics being screamed at the stage as lots of jumping  from the fans. Overall his set was the most energetic of the night.

The Ready Set

Setlist: The Ghost Of Los Angeles – Drain Notes – Spinnin’ – Stays Four The Same – Limits – There Are Days – More Than Alive – Love Like Woe

Cartel was the next to play. Lots of people left the venue after The Ready Set played. Cartel played a good set and the fans that were left weren’t really playing attention. Will tried to get the crowd to participate and got some reaction but not much.. They continued to rock their hardest and they finished out the set.

Cartel

Setlist: The Perfect Mistake – Say Anything Else – Deep South – Honestly – Let’s Go – Faster Ride – Burn This City – My Friends Over You (New Found Glory Cover)

Hey Monday was the last to play. Their stage set up changed since Jersey left the band back in August. They had Mike’s younger brother Chris filling in just till they find a permanent bassist. They started the set off with  “Wish You Were Here”. Cassadee seemed not to know that she was screaming into the microphone rather than singing. That could be blamed on maybe having her in ears to low and the monitors not loud enough to hear herself. They continued to play and some of the crowd seemed to respond. Granted a lot of the crowd ended up at the merch tables or they have left the venue.  Cassadee announced they had an encore because she was afraid that the crowd would disperse as they walked off the stage and then they wouldn’t be able to perform the last remaining songs. They ended the somewhat of an encore with “How You Love Me Now” which didn’t sound the same since you were missing the backup vocals of Jersey. Alex Lipshaw was supposed to be singing back up but instead his microphone was shut off completely. Mike walked over to stage right and tried to sing into Alex’s microphone and no sound was every heard. Mike’s microphone was turned down really low so all you could hear was Cassadee screaming. As soon as the last note was played everyone rushed to the merch area and out the doors. There set  was ok and not the best they have ever played.

Hey Monday

Setlist: Wish You Were Here – Homecoming – Where Is My Head – Mr. Pushover – Hangover – Josie – Obvious – Wondergirl – I Don’t Wanna Dance – 6 Months – Candles – How You Love Me Know

Review On Never Shout Never’s Harmony

Never Shout Never did it again with there 7th album Harmony.

It’s the same upbeat tunes as usual with the same melodies.

There 1st single cheatercheaterbestfriendeater is a huge success.

It starts out very relaxed then gets into this upbeat ukulele rhythm that makes you want to dance.

I would have to rate it an 8 ½ /10

Never Shout Never caught my attention with this album

Bring Me The Horizon:  “There Is A Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let's Keep It A Secret” Album Review

Bring Me The Horizon has done it again with their third album. The Single “It Never Ends” talks about people leeching off of others who are successful. The album also includes religion in the tracks like ‘Crucify Me’, ‘Don’t Go’, and ‘Anthem’. It has a unique balance of screaming and singing which plays nicely on the ears. You can also hear violins which softens the harsh tones of drums and electric guitars. The progression of the album takes you through the struggles and ends peaceful. The last few songs are slower, and not as intense as the beginning. The overall album leaves you wanting more.

 Rating: 8/10

Recommendation: I would recommend it to others and spread the word about the album.

EP Reviews

Jersey Moriarty: “Oh Boy! Here We Go.”

Michael (Jersey) Moriarty is back making his own music. After official announcing he left Hey Monday on August 23, 2010 he began to record his new ep. Oh Boy! Here We Go is a fantastic blend of acoustic guitar and rhythmic harmonica. He has a unique voice and his songs are real and relatable. Every song was written and recorded by him using only his recording equipment and mac book. The EP starts off with the song “Little Miss Perfect” about his dream girl and then gives way to a re-recording of his song “NYC Pretty Baby” which sounds completely different and slower than his version on his other EP “This City Story”. The next few songs keep you interested and are catchy enough that they will be stuck in your heads after hearing them just once. The EP ends with a song called “Hey Kid. Chin Up” written about his leaving the band Hey Monday. It is the most real song on the EP and it will leave an impression on anyone who listens to it. Over all the EP is amazing and deserves some kudos. He is the perfect example of people living out their dreams

10/10

Recommendation:  I would recommend people to check out Jersey’s music and purchase it to help support him as an up and coming musician.  It has catchy lyrics and great listening for people who are looking for new music.

There For Tomorrow: “Re-Creations”

Re: Creations is a remix ep which features many of the songs of their full length album “A Little Faster”. This ep takes their rock sound and mixes in a more electronic sound to create a different kind of sound for the band than was on their album. The ep was actually produced by the band. It also features a new track called “Small World” which is about leaving a closed mindset and going out into the bigger picture.

Rating: 9/10

Recommendation: I would definitely recommend this to everyone especially to those who have never listened to There For Tomorrow before. The ep shows a different side of the band than their full length and ultimately what the band is capable of doing.
